Quality Assurance - Smartphone Apps (Part-Time)

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX

Job Summary: 

We're looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time app tester. Each week we'll be sending you some instructions, and asking you to drive on designated TEXpress Lane corridors in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex during weekday morning or evening periods. You'll then be completing a short form with some details about the app's performance. You'll need to have a car, we'll provide the phones.

This role may suit someone with an interest in technology and starting out in a tech career. Ideally, your commute already encompasses TEXpress Lane corridors.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Follow instructions and guidelines provided by the project lead

  •  Install and configure a smartphone app on multiple phones, as per instructions.

  •  Drive in any TEXpress Lanes, ideally on your morning or evening commute.

  •  Document the results of the tests accurately and in a timely manner

  •  Communicate any issues or bugs with the development team

  •  Ensure that all tasks are completed on schedule

Qualifications:

  •  Positive, tech-minded individual with a startup mindset

  •  Excellent writing and communication skills

  •  Great attention to detail

  •  Ability to follow instructions

  •  Availability to commit to 12 hours per week

  •  Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle

  •  Clean driving record

  •  Effective communication skills

  •  Ability to work independently and follow instructions

  •  Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Compensation: 

  • $15 / hr.

  • $.655 / mile 

  • Tolls (work related)

Working Conditions: 

This is a part-time role requiring a commitment of 12 hours per week. The staff member will need to provide their own reliable vehicle for testing. The work will require driving on particular roads in Dallas-Fort Worth, and the staff member will need to be available to work either morning and / or evening peak periods.
