Dynamic Road User Pricing
The Federal Highway Administration awarded TxDOT, NCTCOG, TTI and Carma a $5M STSFA grant to
explore alternatives to the fuel tax. The project will use the award winning GoCarma smart-phone app
GoCarma to demonstrate user-based alternative revenue mechanisms that utilize a user fee structure
to maintain the long-term solvency of the Highway Trust Fund.

Mobility-As-A-Service
During the 2013 Bay Area Rapid Transit union went on strike more than 200,000 daily commuters were stranded
without a way to get to work in San Francisco. MTC ran out of buses and reached out to CCTA and Carma
(previously Avego). We established real-time dynamic casual carpooling from BART transit stations and moved tens of
thousands of people across the Bay bridge through-out the strike.
